Your wedding: your way
We will marry you whatever your gender or gender history, whatever your religious beliefs (including where you have differing beliefs) and whether or not you have been married before, or are living together, or have children either between you or with previous partners or spouses.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
Weddings at Bury Unitarian Church are designed to meet your needs and to respect your choices. We offer marriages between same-sex couples and between a man and a woman.
We honour the journey that brought you to this point of celebrating and formalising your relationship.
We do recommend that you come along to some of our Sunday services, in order to see the church and to get an idea of the Unitarian ethos. We also very highly recommend at least one rehearsal.
You will want to meet with the minister several times before the ceremony so that we can make sure everything is as you want it to be: the minister is normally available in church on Fridays, some Saturday mornings, and after the service on Sundays, but she can meet up with you at other times.

Church fees:
£390 (a separate charge will be payable if you want an organist or stewards).
Minister’s fee: £240 (this is the standard fee set by the Secretary of State).
These fees are waived for established members of the congregation. Unless your ceremony is on a Sunday, you will have use of the building for the whole day to prepare.
You’re welcome to use your own florist. We are happy to discuss hire of our upstairs hall for you to host a reception or just drinks. Unless your ceremony is on a Sunday, you will have use of the building for the whole day to prepare.
